Acclaimed singer / songwriter, recording artist and entertainer Chris Janson will add another title to his name come next month: grand marshal. WKRN announced this morning that Janson will serve as the grand marshal at the Leiper’s Fork Christmas Day parade beginning at 2:00 PM on December 11. He last joined the parade in 2019, when he gifted fishing equipment to kids along the parade route. The avid outdoorsman will once again team up with Bass Pro Shops and the Franklin High School fishing team to pass out rods and reels.
“I’m so honored to be the grand marshal for this year’s Leiper’s Fork Christmas Parade!” Janson said. “It’s all about community for me. I love my Leiper’s Fork and Franklin. I love Williamson County. Partnering with Bass Pro Shops to pass out fishing rods to kids is a great joy and honor for me. Any time I can see kids’ faces light up with a smile, it’s a happy day.”
Janson is looking to spread a message of unconditional love this holiday season, as illustrated by his current single “Bye Mom” (Listen HERE). MusicRow praised the song as “achingly lovely” and described it as “tapping into a universal truth.” What began as a tribute to his friend and co-writer’s mom, who passed late last year, has turned into a message about loving someone more than yourself. The “masterfully written story song” (Taste of Country) is currently climbing the charts at country radio.
A celebrated recording artist, Janson joined Warner Music Nashville in 2015 as his now 3x Platinum, chart-topping smash “Buy Me A Boat” became a viral and now perennial sensation. Over the past six years he has earned three additional Gold-certified No.1 hits while also garnering upwards of seven billion airplay impressions, clocking more than 1.5 billion on-demand career streams and earning his membership into the esteemed Grand Ole Opry. He recently performed at the Opry’s 5,000th show celebration, earning coverage in The New York Times, Forbes, The Tennessean and more.
Janson will continue traveling the nation for headlining dates and special events through the end of the year. For tickets and more information, visit https://www.chrisjanson.com/tour.
