“Speechless” Exceeds 60 Million Streams, Pushes Top 30 at Country Radio 

 

Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville hit-making country duo Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) continue their meteoric rise to the top today with their first-ever American Music Awards nominations. The Platinum-selling, chart-topping pair are up for the titles of Favorite Duo or Group – Country and Favorite Song – Country (“Tequila”). These latest accolades come on the heels their People’s Choice Awards nomination for Group of 2018 and a total four CMA nods, including Song, Single and Video of the Year as well as Duo of the Year.

 

“What a year 2018 continues to be for us, and we’re so excited to celebrate our first American Music Awards with two nominations!” Smyers said. “Thanks to all the fans – it’s because of you!” 

 

Dan + Shay’s skyrocketing summer shows no sign of slowing as their latest smash single “Speechless” is poised to take Top 30 at country radio. With more than 60 million on-demand streams, the romantic tune ranks amongst the highest-positioned songs on the Mediabase Top 50 chart in every metric: No. 2 in consumption, No. 2 in streams and No. 6 in track sales. The instant fan favorite follows the massive success of their record-breaking hit “Tequila,” which is currently the most-streamed country song released in 2018 and the third most-streamed country song of the year overall. In addition to its multi-week reign atop the charts at country radio, the “heartfelt” (People), Platinum-selling single is approaching Top 15 on Hot AC. It boasts upwards of 236 million on-demand streams, almost 70 million combined views on its videos and continues to remain in the Top 10 on the Shazam Country Chart. 

 

The duo has released vocal-only versions of both tunes (listen HERE), which Billboard applauded for “powerful harmonies [that] soar through… with effortless emotion,” and just two weeks ago they introduced four additional variations of “Tequila” with their remixes package (listen HERE). They took “Tequila,” “Speechless” and more to Nashville’s music row in August for a blowout street party, drawing 10,000 fans from all over Tennessee and surrounding states. Dan + Shay have also performed on national television stages spanning Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen, the CMA Fest concert special, the 53rd Annual ACM Awards, the 2018 CMT Music Awardsand the Citi Summer Concert Series on TODAY. 

 

Dan + Shay are currently sharing music from their new self-titled album out on the road with Rascal Flatts for their “Back To Us” Tour through the end of the month and will join Chris Young for the fall leg of his “Losing Sleep” Tour in October. They’ll take their collection of No. 1 hits and brand new music across the globe with a UK tour kicking off January 17, 2019.
