115 Million Global Streams To Date On Record-Breaking Single
Honored Tonight On “CMT Artists Of The Year” Special At 8pm ET/PT
GRAMMY-winning duo Dan + Shay’s new smash single “10,000 Hours” continues its massive world-wide impact, with more than 115 million global streams and more than 350,000 U.S. track equivalents in less than two weeks since release. Shattering records out of the gate, the collaboration with music superstar Justin Bieber now officially marks the biggest first week streaming total in country music history.
MTV claims the song is “a necessary addition to any wedding playlist ever made,” but that is not the only playlist that seems to be a necessity. Upon release, the “irrepressible love song” (Billboard) landed a spot on 39 out of 40 Spotify New Music Friday playlists, with 33 of those in the Top 10 and 27 in the Top 5. Apple placed the track on all 115 of their New Music Daily playlists, taking the No.1 slot in 85 countries and capturing the coveted spot of No. 1 All Genre on the U.S. iTunes Song chart. “10,000 Hours” quickly reached No. 5 on Spotify’s Top 200 Global chart, as well as No. 3 on Apple Music’s Top 100: Global chart.
While breaking records on the U.S. charts as the first country duo or group ever to debut in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 5, Dan + Shay are reaching global audiences as well, sitting Top 20 on the official singles chart in six additional countries and No. 27 on the Global Shazam Chart. The track climbed to No. 1 on China’s Netease and No. 2 on China’s QQ Music, making it one of the biggest releases in China so far this year. It has also beenplaylisted A-List on UK’s Heart Radio and C-List on BBC Radio 1, as well as official adds on France’s NJRand Australia’s Nova and Hit Regional Network, KISS Sydney and Melbourne and continues to impact globally inside of multiple territories worldwide.
Fans in the U.S. can catch the duo on their recently announced Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour spreading across the states throughout 2020, including New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, which sold out in less than 90 minutes. Presented by AEG Presents, the 35+ date tour follows their sold-out Dan + Shay The Tour earlier this year.
Dan + Shay are up for Duo of the Year, Album of the Year, and Single of the Year for their 3x Platinum, four-week No. 1 hit “Speechless” at this year’s CMA Awards, making them one of the most-nominated artists. Dan Smyers received an additional nomination for Song of the Year as a co-writer on the 4x Platinum, multi-week No. 1 “Tequila” for the second year in a row. The duo will be celebrated in Nashville tonight as one of the top country superstars of 2019 at the 10th Annual “CMT Artists of the Year” special, airing at 8pm ET/PT.
In the seven years since they formed, Dan + Shay have amassed nearly 4 billion streams globally, accumulated 17 total RIAA Platinum and Gold certifications and achieved six No. 1 singles at country radio. They took home their first-ever GRAMMY earlier this year and followed the honor by becoming the most-awarded artist at the ACM Awards before going on to earn CMT Music, Billboard Music and Teen Choice Awards, effectively sweeping the country categories.
