Capacity Shows in Los Angeles and Sacramento Lead Into Unprecedented Same-Day 8AM and 10AM Hour Performances on TODAY January 24

Extraordinary Early Critical Praise From People, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, Huffington Post, Rolling Stone, ELLE, Stereogum, CMT, The Tennessean, American Songwriter and more

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (January 19, 2018) – The long-awaited and decidedly anticipated debut album Dark Horse from Devin Dawson, hailed as “The Nashville Idol” by People Magazine, is available everywhere today via Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville. The sole country artist on Shazam’s “Next To Know” list, who will make an appearance on CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown Saturday, January 20, celebrated the release with a capacity Boots on Stage show at LA’s famed Hotel Cafe Thursday night and a sold out show in his hometown of Sacramento tonight.

In early 2017, the “soulful Nor-cal crooner” (Entertainment Weekly) made his first national late night performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers the week his current single “All On Me” went to radio. On January 24, Dawson will bring the song full circle as it nears Top 10 for his morning show debut in the 8AM hour of TODAY. He’ll perform again in the 10AM hour with a second track from Dark Horse, what Celeb Secrets Country is calling “the best debut album we’ve ever heard.”

Dark Horse is finally here and I can’t believe it’s real,” expressed Dawson. “So much more than just blood and sweat and tears went into this album. It's made up of time, truth, trust, taking chances…and that’s just the beginning. With a common goal and belief in each other, we accomplished a whole hell of a lot. I’m so proud of the music that we’ve created and so ready for the world to hear it. Listen to this album in its entirety and really, really get to know me."

About Devin Dawson

An atypical country artist, Devin Dawson’s approach to music is not different on purpose, it’s different with purpose. He grew up just outside the gates of Folsom Prison, drawing inspiration from Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Marvin Gaye and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Pulling from these influences, he began to write in a style that is definitively country. Dawson’s lyrics, full of romance and vulnerability and delivered with a distinctive saw-toothed vocal, draw you in from the first verse and keep you hooked until the very last chord. Since the release of his debut single “All On Me,” the California-native has performed on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers and TODAY, earning critical praise from a multitude of outlets including ELLE, People, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, Billboard, CMT and more. His unique mix of organic roots and high-voltage country is showcased masterfully on his debut Dark Horse, produced by the daring Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Brothers Osborne). With a co-write credit on every track, the result will further establish Dawson’s building reputation as a dark horse set to emerge as one of the most exciting modern storytellers the format has ever seen.
