Unprecedented Same-Day 8AM and 10AM Hour Performances Build Anticipation for January 19 Release of Dark Horse

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (January 10, 2018) – Devin Dawson is making history again. On January 24, only a few days following the January 19 release of Dark Horse, the Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville singer/songwriter will become one of the few artists to make their TODAY debut in both the 8am and 10am hours on the same day. The sole country artist on Shazam’s “Next To Know” list will perform his breakout debut single “All On Me,” currently on the cusp of Top 10, as well as another cut from Dark Horse. He also recently topped Billboard’s list of Country Artists to Watch in 2018, having already landed on multiple Artist to Watch lists from other outlets like People, Rolling Stone, ELLE, Huffington Post and more.

“All On Me,” the first single from Dawson’s “promising debut album” (StereogumDark Horse, was included on Amazon Music’s Best All-Genre Songs and Country Songs of 2017 list as well as Spotify’s Hot Country: Best of 2017 playlist. Four other songs from the album are currently available, building anticipation for the rest of the track listing, all of which were co-written by Dawson himself.

Called “one of country music’s most tender and articulate wordsmiths” by The Tennessean, it was important for the California-native to tell the story behind writing each song. To do that, Dawson created Songs In the Key of F, an extended 12-part video series chronicling that creative processEach new installment occurs in the location where he wrote the track, sharing the stories alongside his co-writers in addition to a new version of the song. About Devin Dawson

An atypical country artist, Devin Dawson’s approach to music is not different on purpose, it’s different with purpose. He grew up just outside the gates of Folsom Prison, drawing inspiration from Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Marvin Gaye and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Pulling from these influences, he began to write in a style that is definitively country. Dawson’s lyrics, full of romance and vulnerability and delivered with a distinctive saw-toothed vocal, draw you in from the first verse and keep you hooked until the very last chord. Since the release of his debut single “All On Me” earlier this year, the California-native has already made his TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, and earned critical praise from a multitude of outlets including ELLE, People, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, Billboard, CMT and more.  His unique mix of organic roots and high-voltage country is showcased masterfully on his forthcoming January 19th debut Dark Horse, produced by the daring Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Brothers Osborne). With a co-write credit on every track, the result will further establish Dawson’s building reputation as a dark horse set to emerge as one of the most exciting modern storytellers the format has ever seen.
