“All On Me” Nears Top 10 as Dawson Earns Coveted Spots on Artist to Watch Lists

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (January 4, 2018) – With the January 19 release of  Devin Dawson’s “promising” (Stereogum) debut album Dark Horse only a few weeks away, fans and critics alike continue to rally behind the singer/songwriter and his nearly Top 10 single, “All On Me.” Recently adding Billboard and Huffington Post to the multiple outlets that have included him on Artist to Watch Lists, Dawson also scored a coveted slot as the only country artist on Shazam’s “Next To Know” list; a “preview of the artists who will go from emerging to breakout” in 2018. The music discovery platform, which used Shazam data as the leading factor in determining the selection, also noted “His debut album - ‘Dark Horse’ - is due in January. It will surely show him to be anything but.”

Dubbed one of Amazon Music’s Best All-Genre and Country Songs of 2017, Dawson’s debut single “All On Me” is rapidly approaching Top 10 at country radio while also securing a spot on Spotify’s Hot Country: Best of 2017 playlist. The smooth-country track also landed within the Top 5 of Spotify’s US and Global Viral charts. He continues to build anticipation with the release of “Symptoms” today. The track arrives as the final installment before the January 19 release, which can be pre-ordered here: wmna.sh/darkhorse.

In 2017, the Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville artist also earned praise from Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, The Tennessean, HITS Magazine, VEVO and more as an Artist to Watch in addition to being featured as the only male recording artist on People’s 2017 Ones to Watch list and ELLE’s 2017 Fall Culture Preview. The country music community has taken note as well with CMT including Dawson as a 2018 Listen Up artist alongside Pandora, MusicRow, AXS, Sounds Like Nashville, The Boot and Nashville.com hinging predictions on Dawson’s sure-to-be-successful 2018.

Previously hitting the road with Maren Morris, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Michael Ray, Dawson will join Brett Eldredge in April on “The Long Way” Tour. Multiple shows have already sold out and available tickets can be purchased here: https://www.devindawsonmusic.com/tour.

About Devin Dawson

An atypical country artist, Devin Dawson’s approach to music is not different on purpose, it’s different with purpose. He grew up just outside the gates of Folsom Prison, drawing inspiration from Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Marvin Gaye and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Pulling from these influences, he began to write in a style that is definitively country. Dawson’s lyrics, full of romance and vulnerability and delivered with a distinctive saw-toothed vocal, draw you in from the first verse and keep you hooked until the very last chord. Since the release of his debut single “All On Me” earlier this year, the California-native has already made his TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, landed multiple Grand Ole Opry performances, and received critical praise from a multitude of outlets. His unique mix of organic roots and high-voltage country is showcased masterfully on his forthcoming January 19th debut Dark Horse, produced by the daring Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Brothers Osborne). With a co-write credit on every track, the result will further establish Dawson’s building reputation as a dark horse set to emerge as one of the most exciting modern storytellers the format has ever seen.
