“Dark Horse” Is No. 2 Most Added At Country Radio Today
Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville recording artist Devin Dawson is capping off a tremendous year with his latest single “Dark Horse” arriving as the second most added song at country radio today. The “raw and deeply personal” (American Songwriter) song is the title track to Dawson’s critically-acclaimed debut LP, which has already been named one of the year’s best country albums by Esquire and Billboard. “Dark Horse” has been called a “moody and confident stunner” by MusicRow, also asserting that the “poignant and potent” song demands “your undivided attention.” Co-written by Dawson, Andy Albert and Andrew DeRoberts, People also applauds its ability to stay “true to country’s roots even as it stretches beyond them.”
Called “one of country music’s most tender and articulate wordsmiths” by The Tennessean, the California-native knew he wanted to tell the story behind writing each song on his debut album Dark Horse. In order to do so, Dawson created Songs In the Key of F, an extended 12-part video series chronicling that creative process (WATCH HERE). Having just announced an upcoming six-date UK run with label-mates Dan +Shay, Dawson also officially added Big Loud Records’ singer/songwriter Jillian Jacqueline to his own 2019 “Stray Off Course” tour. Jacqueline, his duet partner on “I Can’t Trust Myself,” will join the tour starting with the January 31st show in New York.
