According to Drew Parker, you don’t have to grow up at the end of a red dirt road to learn the simplicities of how to be a good person. The rising artist explains how in his brand new track, “Raised Up Right” (LISTEN HERE). Written by Parker, Matt Jenkins and Ben Hayslip, the song serves as a nostalgic homage to values instilled in him as a child.
“Raised Up Right” serves as the first release from Parker since his seven-track EP While You’re Gone. The title track went No.1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway and charted on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart after just two weeks, making Parker one of the fastest debut artists to hit the Billboard chart last year. Co-written by Parker alongside Jameson Rodgers, the singer / songwriter performed the tune on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage for his Opry debut, where he received a standing ovation. He will once again step into the circle this Friday, March 25.
Parker is currently climbing the charts as a songwriter with Luke Combs’ Top 10 single “Doin’ This.” A frequent collaborator with Combs, Parker received his first CMA Awards nomination for Song of the Year last year for Combs’ “Forever After All.” The multi-week No.1 single is one of several other tracks penned by Parker alongside Combs, in addition to “1, 2 Many,” “Lonely One” and “Nothing Like You,” adding to Parker’s other major publishing credits such as Jake Owen’s No.1 single “Homemade.”
Wrapping up last year on Combs’ What You See Is What You Get tour and Jameson Rodgers’ Cold Beer Calling My Name tour, the Georgia native is currently playing headlining shows across the country. For a full list of upcoming tour dates, click HERE.
