Nashville, TN – January 6th, 2011 – Warner Bros. Records guitar slinging newcomer Frankie Ballard, who was recently named by Country Weekly, Dallas Morning News and Roughstock.com as one to watch for in 2011 will make his Grand Ole Opry debut this Friday, January 7 at the historic Ryman Auditorium.
"I’m totally humbled by the invite to play the Grand Ole Opry for the first time," said Ballard. “The opportunity to make my debut at the Ryman, on a stage where so many great country stars once played, is enough to make my knees knock a little!”
Ballard joins Rodney Atkins, Chris Young and Dailey & Vincent, in the line-up for Friday’s show.
Ballard is breaking through the country music charts with his rockin’ debut single, “Tell Me You Get Lonely,” landing in at the No. 33 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and his debut music video reigns in the No. 5 spot on GAC’s fan-voted Top 20 Country Countdown this week. Hailing from Battle Creek, Michigan, Frankie Ballard brings a fresh new sound with his unique blend of edgy, country rock and sheer, fleet-fingering guitar skills. In 2008, Ballard won Kenny Chesney’s “Next Big Star” regional competition and opened for Chesney at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids and Ford Field in Detroit. Ballard is currently working on his forthcoming debut album for Warner Bros. Records with producer Michael Knox (Jason Aldean).
