Hunter Hayes Receives First GRAMMY Nominations In Three Categories

Hunter Hayes received his first GRAMMY® nominations last night in the categories for “Best New Artist,” “Best Country Album,” and “Best Country Solo Performance” for “Wanted.” Hayes was also featured on The GRAMMY® Nominations Concert Live!! show prior to the announcement where he performed songs from the final five nominees for Best Pop Vocal Album. Just off the heels of winning the coveted honor as CMA's Best New Artist of the Year Award, Hayes continues to rise as one of the most celebrated new talents in music this year with his Atlantic Records' self-titled release officially certified Gold. Other recent accomplishments include his first single, "Storm Warning," being certified Gold, and his multi-week #1, "Wanted," nearing Double Platinum certification also driving the song to debut Top 40 and Top 30 Adult Top 40. The music video for his current Top 20 and climbing hit, "Somebody's Heartbreak," debuted yesterday.

“This year has been a year of a lot of firsts for me and a ton of celebration as well,” commented Hunter. “I came to Nashville to be a dreamer and make music that I love. My label took a chance allowing me to play everything on my debut record, and then to be acknowledged by the Grammys for it is more than I dreamed of. I'm still totally in shock and I can't believe there is an "s" at the end of "nomination.”

The 55th Annual GRAMMY® Awards will broadcast live on February 10 on CBS.
