Nashville, TN – (December 9th, 2010) – Santa Claus is coming to town and he’s making a stop at country superstar John Rich’s Mt. Richmore in honor of the Vanderbilt University Dance Marathon organization that raises funds for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. On Saturday, Dec. 11, Joan and John Rich will open up their home to throw the annual Dance Marathon Holiday Party for “Miracle Families,” those whose lives have been touched by Children’s Hospital. The party is a celebration for the Vanderbilt students and Miracle Families, who serve as ambassadors for Vanderbilt University Dance Marathon, the largest student-run philanthropic organization at the university.

“Family is such an important part of my life and I know that especially around the holidays, it can be difficult for families who have loved ones in the hospital,” says Rich. “I admire everything the Children’s Hospital does on a daily basis for those families and want to do my part in spreading the cheer this holiday season.”

The party will include holiday festivities such as decorating gingerbread houses, Christmas stories, dancing and of course, a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. The holiday party is part of Dance Marathon’s continuing effort to support Miracle Families and those whose lives have been touched by Children’s Hospital. In addition to hosting the decked-out party, Joan and John Rich will match the top student fundraiser’s total, up to $10,000.
