New Single “Speechless” Already Within Top 30 at Radio
If award-winning country duo Dan + Shay are determined to give their fans a show-stopping performance, they won’t let a cancelled tour date get in the way. When their stop with Rascal Flatts on Friday night (9/14) was cancelled after Gary LeVox fell ill, the pair quickly pulled together a last-minute pop-up concert at the House of Blues San Diego. They impressively sold out the surprise show in under an hour after making the announcement via social media and personally called all those who had purchased VIP tickets inviting them to come (watch a surprised fan’s reaction HERE and a clip from the evening HERE).
The chart-topping duo is also celebrating widespread acclaim as American Music Awards nominees for Favorite Duo or Group – Country and Favorite Song – Country (“Tequila”). They have also recently earned a People’s Choice Awards nomination for Group of 2018 and a total four CMA Awards nods, including Song, Single and Video of the Year as well as Duo of the Year. Their current single “Speechless” has nearly 65 million on-demand streams and sold nearly 480 track equivalents after just five weeks on the country radio airplay charts, where it now sits inside the Top 30.
“Speechless” follows Dan + Shay’s record-breaking single “Tequila,” which is currently the most-streamed country song released in 2018 and the third most-streamed country song of the year overall. Between the two hits, the duo is celebrating their 16th consecutive week inside the Top 10 for most-streamed artist in country music. In addition to its multi-week reign atop the charts at country radio, the Platinum-selling “Tequila” is inside the Top 15 on Hot AC. It boasts upwards of 243 million on-demand streams, almost 70 million combined views on its videos and continues to remain in the Top 10 on the Shazam Country Chart.
The pair has released vocal-only versions of both tunes (listen HERE), which Billboard applauded for “powerful harmonies [that] soar through… with effortless emotion,” and just two weeks ago they introduced four additional variations of “Tequila” with their remixes package (listen HERE). They took “Tequila,” “Speechless” and more to Nashville’s music row in August for a blowout street party, drawing 10,000 fans from all over Tennessee and surrounding states. Dan + Shay have also performed on national television stages spanning Jimmy Kimmel Live!,Ellen, the CMA Fest concert special, the 53rd Annual ACM Awards, the 2018 CMT Music Awards and the Citi Summer Concert Series on TODAY.
Dan + Shay will wrap the remaining dates of the Rascal Flatts “Back To Us” Tour this week, joining Chris Young for the fall leg of his “Losing Sleep” Tour in October. They’ll continue to share new music alongside their collection of No. 1 hits across the globe with a UK tour kicking off January 17, 2019.
