Fast-becoming one of Country music’s most in-demand emerging artists, Warner Music Nashville multi-talent Shy Carter made his debut (6/25) at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, to a standing ovation. Introducing his “signature country-soul swagger” (as praised by E! News) while appearing in the circle to wild applause, he performed “Good Love,” off debut EP ‘The Rest Of Us,’ and then walked through the packed audience for his GOLD-certified “God Whispered Your Name” cut by Keith Urban. Deeming him a “Man of the People,” check out PEOPLE’s exclusive photo gallery here.

“My Grand Ole Opry debut was a dream come true. It really was a magical and spiritual experience for me! I went into the audience and during my second song, everyone was singing along to ‘Hallelujah,’ which is towards the end of ‘God Whispered Your Name.’ It felt like everyone was happy to share in that special moment with me and I will never forget it,” shares Carter. “I even kissed the circle – both at the beginning and end of my performance – because I was just so thrilled to be standing there. It was an unbelievable honor and I’m very grateful. Thank you to everyone who made this incredible blessing happen for me. Thank you to the outstanding band who was so supportive, and the amazing crowd that made me feel at home. God bless the Grand Ole Opry.”

Adding to his list of high-profile firsts, he’s confirmed to headline the final show of the CMT Hot Prospects summer concert series at The Battery Atlanta on August 19. Playing a FREE pregame concert for fans of the 2021 World Series champions, Carter will appear just outside Truist Park on the Georgia Power Pavilion stage in Atlanta, GA, ahead of an Atlanta Braves game. He’ll also reprise his performance during the seventh-inning stretch with “God Bless America.” With more details to be announced soon, tickets can be found here.
