As the first month of the new year comes to a close, it’s time to toss the New Year’s resolutions to the side and indulge in a little sweetness, and that is just what singer/songwriter Troy Cartwright is serving up with the release of his new song “Cake For Breakfast” (LISTEN HERE). Written by Brett Tyler, Michael Hardy and Alysa Vanderheym, the vibrant and syncopated up-tempo tune finds Cartwright and his leading lady continuing their celebration of love into the next morning.

“Cake For Breakfast” is the fourth track that Cartwright has released since signing his first major-label deal with Warner Music Nashville in 2018. “Hung Up On You,” “Love Like We Used To” and his most recent release “My First Beer” all contribute to Cartwright’s nearly seven million on-demand streams, with more new music on the way. He has already received critical praise from outlets such as Sounds Like Nashville, who credits Cartwright for “pouring vivid, unforgettable memories into a groove-country standout” on “My First Beer.” Rolling Stone also placed the Texas native on their “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know” list, describing his sound as having “an affinity for power country, idiosyncratic Seventies singer-songwriter fare and indie rock.”

Cartwright hit the road early in his career with upwards of 130 tour dates per year, all before securing a manager or an agent. He has since toured with artists such as Josh Abbott Band, Riley Green, Jake Owen and more, and he will join Jon Langston for select dates in February. About Troy Cartwright:

Warner Music Nashville’s Troy Cartwright is a fascinating mix. Certainly a product of Texas’ rich heritage of dive bars and honky tonks, he’s also a Berklee trained musician and a one-time youth worship leader. After releasing a handful on EPs and a critically-heralded full-length album, the Dallas native dreamed bigger dreams than what stretched on the endless Texas horizons and relocated to Music City, where his creative drive found a new gear. He signed with Warner Music Nashville in 2018 and has since released “Hung Up On You,” “Love Like We Used To,” “My First Beer” and most recently “Cake For Breakfast.”
