"The goal of starting a high school record label and building a professional recording studio within one year was incredibly ambitious, but, here we are," says Scott Hendricks, Sr. VP of A&R at Warner Music Nashville and GRAMMY, CMA and ACM award-winning producer. "This is truly a testament to a large team of people from all across Nashville who gave above and beyond to see this vision become a reality. These students and the ones to follow now have the tools to hone their craft and pursue their musical dreams. Nashville should be proud."
By partnering with Warner Music Nashville, students from Pearl-Cohn High School were able to visit the offices on Music Row and shadow senior execs, learning first-hand the inner workings of a record label. Students were fully integrated into the departments and were taken to video shoots, photo shoots, recording sessions, pitch meetings, and No. 1 parties. The relationship has been as valuable for the WMN staff as it has been for the school.
