Tune in this week to watch Randy's appearance on Fox's American Idol! This week's theme will be Grand Ole Opry week. He will be mentoring the remaining eleven contestants on Tuesday, March 17 at 8:00-10:00 PM ET (live/PT tape-delayed) and will be performing with Carrie Underwood singing his classic hit, "I Told You So" on Wednesday, March 18 at 9:00-10:00 PM ET (live/PT tape-delayed).

Following Randy Travis’ acclaimed 2008 album Around the Bend and DVD Christmas on the Pecos, Warner Brothers Records is proud to release Travis’ greatest hits album I Told You So: The Ultimate Hits of Randy Travis on March 17, 2009. The 32-track album features two previously unreleased tracks featuring the many hits of Travis’ extensive career in country music, including “Forever and Ever Amen,” “Three Wooden Crosses,” and the album’s first single “Turn It Around,” will impact radio on March 12.

Does Carrie Underwood's current single "I Told You So" sound familiar? It should! Randy originally penned and recorded "I Told You So" for his second album, Always & Forever, which also included the signature hit, "Forever And Ever, Amen," released in 1987. The song reached Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Charts. "I Told You So" earned Randy an American Music Award for Favorite Country Single in 1989.

Randy Travis made the “Country CDs With Legs: Recordings and Reissues in 2008 that are likely to last” section in The Wall Street Journal. He was one of only eight releases that made the cut! He also made 9513.com’s Top 10 of 2008 list at #8!

Here's what the Wall Street Journal and 9513.com had to say about Around the Bend:

Nominations for the 51st Annual GRAMMY® Awards were announced December 3 by The Recording Academy® and both Randy Travis and James Otto came away with four nominations.

Randy Travis received a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Country Album category for his first Country music album in eight years, Around The Bend. In addition, songwriters Ashley Gorley and Bob Regan were nominated in the Best Country Song category for Travis’ “Dig Two Graves” from the same album.
