Warner Music Nashville singer / songwriter Chris Janson always goes above and beyond to give back to his community, and his recent venture with Bass Pro Shops is no exception. To commemorate Military Family Appreciation Month and Veteran’s Day, the decorated entertainer joined Bass Pro Shops for an in-store “round-up at the register” campaign, with the intention of funding at least 20 life-changing scholarships (a minimum of $100,000) for the spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members via national nonprofit organization Folds of Honor. In true Janson fashion, the campaign exceeded all expectations and came to an incredible grand total of $300,000 for the scholarship fund.

“I am so thankful for the generosity and support from everyone who donated to Bass Pro Shops ‘round-up at the register’ campaign that my dear friend Johnny Morris (Founder and CEO of Bass Pro Shops) put into action,” says Janson. “It does my heart good to know that we raised $300,000 for Folds of Honor and we are able to provide so many scholarships. I look forward to one day being able to meet some of the recipients and tell them personally what their ultimate sacrifice means to me and my family.”

Yesterday, Janson and Johnny Morris presented a $300,000 check to the Folds of Honor organization at Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Chris also performed “Bye Mom” and “Good Vibes” at the Johnny Morris Bass Pro Shops US Open National Bass Fishing Amateur Team Championship, which aired on NBC Sports Network. The championship benefits conservation and the winner took home one million dollars.

The Janson-led initiative was inspired by his current single “Bye Mom,” a tribute to his friend and co-writer’s mom, who passed away late last year (listen HERE). The “masterfully written story song” (Taste of Country) brings the message of unconditional love, especially to those who have suffered hardships and loss. MusicRow has praised the chart-climbing song as “achingly lovely” and described it as “tapping into a universal truth.”

Janson will wrap the year continuing to spread unconditional love, good vibes and holiday cheer. On December 11, he will serve as the grand marshal at the local Leiper’s Fork Christmas Day parade. The avid outdoorsman, who previously joined the parade in 2019, will once again team up with Bass Pro Shops and the Franklin High School fishing team to pass out rods and reels to children along the route.

Janson joined Warner Music Nashville in 2015 as his now 3x Platinum, chart-topping smash “Buy Me A Boat” became a viral and now perennial sensation. Over the past six years he has earned three additional Gold-certified No.1 hits while also garnering upwards of seven billion airplay impressions, clocking more than 1.5 billion on-demand career streams and earning his membership into the esteemed Grand Ole Opry. He recently performed at the Opry’s 5,000th show celebration, earning coverage in The New York TimesForbesThe Tennessean and more.
