Three-time consecutive GRAMMY-winning superstars – and current GRAMMY Award nominees for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, their fourth consecutive nomination in that category – Dan + Shay wrapped their massive headline Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour this week, cementing their undeniable live show star power.
The final weekend included four consecutively sold-out dates at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI; Giant Center in Hershey, PA; Prudential Center in Newark, NJ; and concluding with the final sold out show on December 7 at TD Garden in Boston, MA. The tour started in March 2020 with two consecutively sold out shows at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and went on to sell out other iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York City and STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour, presented by AEG Presents, spanned 33 shows and garnered 400,000 total tickets sold across its run. With an intricate stage design – including one shaped like a “+” in the middle of the floor in a nod to their logo – riveting visual effects and thousands of fans singing songs back in their entirety, The (Arena) Tour provided an unparalleled live concert experience each night.
Critical praise for the tour covered every aspect of the show. The Minneapolis Star Tribune hailed its “impressively creative” production and declaring, “Dan + Shay have the right instincts when it comes to entertaining modern-day country crowds.”
The St. Paul Pioneer Press echoed those sentiments, noting the show as a “high energy evening of hits” and of the superstar duo: “They both proved they have the energy and charisma to headline arenas.”
The Omaha World-Herald added that “Dan + Shay are a couple of crazy-talented individuals” and that the tour, which had previously been postponed due to COVID-19, was “worth the long wait.”
Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour is currently nominated for Best Country Tour at the 33rd Annual Pollstar Awards, while Dan + Shay are also nominated for Best New Headliner. The Best Country Tour category recognizes professionalism and dedication to the art and craft of live performance by a touring Country artist, while Best New Headliner recognizes an act in their first years of headlining that achieved a significant breakthrough in 2021 through memorable performances, fan engagement and box office success.
Each night featured no shortage of hits from Dan + Shay’s undeniable catalog, in addition to brand new songs played live for the first time from their hit, RIAA Gold-certified album Good Things including its three No. 1 singles – 4x Platinum-certified “10,000 Hours (with Justin Bieber),” Platinum-certified “I Should Probably Go To Bed,” and Gold-certified “Glad You Exist.” Listen to Good Things HERE.
Alternative pop rockers The Band CAMINO and 3x GRAMMY nominee and multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress joined as special guests on all Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour dates.
Dan + Shay are currently nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the upcoming 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards. This marks their fourth consecutive nomination in this category, which they have won for the past three years – the first and only artist to do so. Last month, they won the 2021 American Music Award for Favorite Country Duo or Group. This is the duo’s third consecutive win in that category, in addition to their 2020 all-genre win with Justin Bieber for Collaboration of the Year with “10,000 Hours.”
Most recently, they released a new original holiday track titled “Officially Christmas” which has already amassed 2.6 million+ global streams to date since its November 9 release. Watch the music video HERE and their recent performance of the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon HERE.
