Two-time GRAMMY Award winners and current nominees Dan + Shay have released their brand-new single “Glad You Exist,” available everywhere now and impacting radio on Monday, February 8 (LISTEN HERE). Fresh off their fifth consecutive and eighth No. 1 single “I Should Probably Go To Bed,” the duo’s new song comes with a message of hope and gratitude to their fans.

Written by the duo’s Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney alongside Ryan Lewis, Tayla Parx and Jordan Reynolds, “Glad You Exist” was announced to fans Tuesday night with a special message from the duo: “To us, ‘Glad You Exist’ is more than just a song. It’s a message of gratitude and hope. A message to everyone in our lives: our fans, our friends, our families, to remind them all how grateful we are to be on the planet at the same time. It’s truly remarkable when you think about it. We’ve spent the majority of the past year, like many others, searching for answers and a sense of normalcy, but finding comfort in memories of better days (that we all know will return soon). Concerts, bonfires, road trips with friends, even the simple things like date night at a restaurant, or beers at a bar during a football game. This song has taken on a new meaning not being able to see our loved ones in person, but throughout history, music has always had a special way of bringing people together, even when we are furthest apart. These words hold a special place in our hearts, and hopefully they will in yours too. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again (and again). We’re just so glad you exist. Every. Single. One of you.”

Dan + Shay were recently announced as Blake Shelton’s Battle Advisors on NBC’s The Voice for the show’s milestone 20th season. “The Battle Rounds are two artists coming together in a battle duet and there’s no one I can think of who could advise better than Dan + Shay for this,” said Shelton. “Their career has exploded over the last several years because of their song writing and how they are able to harmonize and make music together. And they are naturals at being an advisor and it’s been helpful for me and my team having them here this season.”

The duo has graced The Voice stage in the past for multiple performances, most recently in December 2020 with their original holiday tune “Take Me Home For Christmas.” The announcement came shortly after the duo’s massive global hit “Tequila” received the iHeartRadio Titanium Award for crossing the threshold of one billion total audience spins across iHeartRadio stations.

6x Platinum “Tequila” laid the groundwork for the enormous success that is Dan + Shay. Their most recent No.1 “I Should Probably Go To Bed” has surpassed one million U.S. track equivalents and 210+ million global streams in five months. The duo shattered records with their single “10,000 Hours” with superstar Justin Bieber, with the song claiming the title of the biggest first-week streaming total in country music history. Garnering over 1.5 billion global streams to date, the track was the fastest country song to reach over one million U.S. track equivalents in 2019 and spent 21 weeks at No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart (5th longest run in chart history). Dan + Shay have earned multiple GRAMMY, CMA, ACM, American Music, and Billboard Music Award wins and nominations, currently up for their 3rd consecutive GRAMMY Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. In the seven years since they formed, Dan + Shay have surpassed seven billion global career streams (with over four billion impressions in 2020 alone), accumulated 35 total RIAA certifications and achieved eight No. 1 singles at country radio.
