Three-time consecutive GRAMMY Award winners Dan + Shay took home the Best Duo/Group of the Year award last night at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The category included BTS, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5 and Twenty One Pilots, making Dan + Shay the only country act in the all-genre category.
“Thank you iHeartRadio and thank you to our incredible fans,” said the duo after accepting the award on the red carpet prior to the show. “This means the world. Ok, gotta gather our emotions and get ready to perform. We love y’all so much.”
Following their win, the duo took the stage to perform their hit new single “Glad You Exist,” which has more than 115+ million global streams and is quickly climbing the country charts. Billboard applauded the “smooth and harmonious set” that “added an air of comfort and optimism.”
Dan + Shay have earned multiple GRAMMY, CMA, ACM, American Music, and Billboard Music Award wins and nominations, recently claiming their 3rd consecutive GRAMMY Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, making them the first artist to do so 3x consecutively since the category’s inception. The duo has performed on countless television stages and recently teamed up with labelmate Blake Shelton on the milestone 20th season of NBC’s The Voice, where they served as Shelton’s Battle Advisors. In the eight years since they formed, Dan + Shay have surpassed 7.6 billion global career streams (with over four billion impressions in 2020 alone), accumulated 38 total RIAA certifications and achieved eight No. 1 singles at country radio.
