New Artist of the Year & Single of the Year (“I Hope”) Nominee Announced Remaining Awards with Labelmate Ingrid Andress This Morning
Current Single “The Good Ones” Soars
Securing her first-ever CMA Awards nominations, Warner Music Nashville powerhouse Gabby Barrett is a 2X nominee today for CMA New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year (“I Hope”).
Joining labelmate Ingrid Andress from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville this morning, Barrett helped round out the nominations announcements on CMA’s YouTube and Facebook pages, and found out the exciting news live on stage. Watch here.
“Oh my goodness!!!! I’m so thankful for this morning - to be nominated not once but TWICE for New Artist and Single of the Year is overwhelming and so amazing to me, and to be included as part of the announcement was just the cherry on top,” shares Barrett. “I give honor and glory to the Lord for the blessings He continues to pour out over my life, thank you to my sweet husband, my family, my teams at Warner and Red Light, the Country music community for embracing me wholeheartedly, and of course to the most loyal fans - none of this would be possible without you all! Thank you so much, I am honored and SO EXCITED!!””
The #1 most-streamed Country song of 2020, 2X PLATINUM hit “I Hope” (writers: Barrett, Zach Kale, Jon Nite; producers: Zach Kale, Ross Copperman) is “a gleaming example of the modern Country hit’s crossover trajectory” (Stereogum), soaring to #1 at Country radio earlier this year, reigning Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for six weeks and counting, and flying at Top 40, Hot AC and AC radio after cracking the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10 last week. The chart-dominating single has shattered long-held records across the genre, short-listing Barrett as a GRAMMY contender (Forbes, Billboard) and setting her apart as “the once-in-a-half-generation country artist for whom the phrase ‘next Carrie Underwood’ can be reasonably invoked in any context” (Variety).
Barrett continues her rise with current single “The Good Ones,” rapidly building momentum at Country radio as one of the Top 5 most added tracks this week. Amassing 2.7 MILLION on-demand streams last week alone, the “love song for the ones worth holding onto” (The Boot) sits just outside the Top 30 on Billboard’s Hot Country songs chart, its highest position to date.
KEEP UP WITH GABBY BARRETT
ABOUT GABBY BARRETT:
Warner Music Nashville’s Gabby Barrett is setting the trend. Spotlighted as an Amazon Music Breakthrough artist, featured in Variety’s 2020 Young Hollywood Impact Report, named Radio Disney's Next Big Thing, a Billboard "Chartbreaker," a SiriusXM + Pandora All-Genre and Country Artist to Watch, and a short-listed GRAMMY contender (Forbes, Billboard), Barrett continues to prove why she’s “Country music's rising star” (E!). Her meteoric debut, the 2X PLATINUM "lightning-in-a-bottle single" (PEOPLE) “I Hope,” is 2020’s most-streamed Country song to date, cracking the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Reigning atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for six weeks, “I Hope” was also the first debut single by a solo female artist to top the Country radio charts since 2017, and made her the youngest artist with a #1 debut at Country radio in over two decades. Adding to over 500 MILLION+ career on-demand streams, her full-length LP GOLDMINE earned more first-week debut album streams than any other Country act in history, including her current SIX songs spinning across FIVE radio formats: “I Hope” and latest single “The Good Ones” (Country radio); “I Hope” feat. Charlie Puth (Top 40, Hot AC and AC); “Footprints on the Moon” (Radio Disney); “Got Me” feat. Shane & Shane (SiriusXM’s “The Message” and Music Choice’s Contemporary Christian channels); and “Rose Needs a Jack” (SiriusXM’s “The Highway”). Up next, Barrett will perform at the 55th ACM Awards, airing 9/16 on CBS.
