CMT Music Awards Performance Just Announced as “More Hearts Than Mine” Earns NSAI Song of the Year Award

Lady Like (Deluxe) Available Everywhere Now (LISTEN HERE)

“A bold new talent [who] continues to impress” (Billboard), Warner Music Nashville/Atlantic Records breakout Ingrid Andress is Top 5 Most-Added this week at country radio with her latest single “Lady Like” (LISTEN HERE). Having accumulated more than 30 million streams globally, MusicRow urges programmers: “By all means, play the fire outta this.” Serving as her critically-lauded debut album’s title track, HUFFPOST has called the song “a powerful statement denouncing the pressure women face with regard to maintaining gender norms” while Rolling Stone describes it as “a slow-burning anthem of independence.”

“‘Lady Like’” is one of the most personal songs I have ever written,” Andress shared on her Instagram page. “It was originally written as a way for me to work through the frustrations that stem from how society conditions all of us – men and women – to believe certain ‘truths’ that end up dictating even the smallest details of our day to day lives. Now I hope it can speak to all of you as a reminder to never be afraid of expressing your very own kind of ladylike, whatever that may be, and to live exactly as you are every single day. I don’t have all the answers, but I know that figuring out how to be comfortable in your own skin is hard no matter who you are. Being ladylike isn’t some set of rules etched in stone. It’s ever-changing, ever-evolving, and up to each individual to define on their own terms. To me, being ladylike is about courage, strength, compassion, leadership and love. I encourage each and every one of you to find out what it means to you too, because at the end of the day, I believe we could all stand to be a little more ladylike.”

In addition, the Nashville Songwriters Association International announced today that Andress’ Platinum-selling No. 1 debut single “More Hearts Than Mine” has won the Nashville Songwriter Award for 2020 Song of the Year (READ HERE). The emotional ballad also earned the MusicRow Awards trophy for Song of the Year earlier this year, leading Andress to sweep every category she was nominated including Breakthrough Artist-Writer of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year. The CMT Music AwardsBreakthrough Video of the Year nominee has just been added to the lineup as one of the featured performances during this year’s broadcast on October 21 at 7:00pmCT/8:00pmET on CMT. A 2020 ACM New Female Artist of the Year nominee and current CMA New Artist and Song of the Year nominee, Andress was named to People’s 20 Emerging Artists of the Year as well.

As “Lady Like” begins its ascent up the radio charts, fans can revisit the song’s namesake album in a completely new way with the The Lady Like (Deluxe) album (LISTEN HERE). From heartache to heartbreak, Lady Like (Deluxe) features “plenty of new treasures” (People) including her newest original song, “Feeling Things,” a collaboration with Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town on Andress’ No. 1 debut “More Hearts Than Mine” as well as a cover of “Boys” which she originally co-wrote for Charli XCX. American Songwriter discussed the genesis of the reimagined project, praising the way it “underscore(s) Andress’ talent for emotive, honest and clear storytelling.”

Named to GRAMMY-contender watch lists by VarietyBillboardRolling Stone, Forbes and HITS, Andress will be kicking off the new GRAMMY Museum® livestream series on COLLECTION:live this Friday (10/9) at 5pmPT/8pmET. Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Museum's music education initiatives and help keep their mission alive while the physical location remains closed due to COVID-19 (PURCHASE HERE).
