Warner Music Nashville’s celebrated new singer / songwriter Avery Anna will follow her viral hit “Narcissist” with the release of her debut EP, Mood Swings, on Oct. 7 (PREORDER HERE). Mood Swings further introduces the fan-favorite artist, who is known already for marrying her introspective pen with piano-driven country melodies and a youthful energy. David Fanning serves as producer on the project, which credits Avery as a writer on each of its seven tracks.
“Mood Swings is made up of songs that are inspired by moments in my own life where I have felt either really happy, really in love, really confused, or even really sad,” says Avery. “These songs come straight from the heart, so I am so excited for you to hear them!”
Mood Swings is the result of a whirlwind couple of years. As schools turned to virtual learning during the pandemic, Avery started filming videos of herself singing in her mom’s bathroom – where, she says, the acoustics were best. Two years later, the Arizona native is a newly minted high school graduate with more than 1.5 million followers and 27 million likes on TikTok. She continues to demonstrate her staying power, having already earned more than 130 million global streams.
Fans can get a first listen of the upcoming music with “what made you think?,” out now (LISTEN HERE). The ballad, which she co-wrote alongside Andy Sheridan and Seth Ennis, finds the narrator refusing to give any more of her time – or heart – to a game-playing ex. “what made you think?” follows smash hit “Narcissist” (LISTEN HERE), which has already topped SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown, where she was also a Highway Find Artist, and sold more than 500,000 track equivalents.
Avery will reach another career milestone ahead of the EP release as she makes her Grand Ole Opry debut on Friday, Sept. 30. She will continue performing on the road through the end of the year, including dates on Spencer Crandall’s The Western Tour. Visit HERE for more information.
