Entertainment Tonight Shares an Exclusive Interview from the Cosmopolitan Featured Female

NASHVILLE, TN (July 14, 2017) – With her new single “Lonely Call” finding RaeLynn taking an empowering stand against an ex, the “Nashville spitfire” (People Magazine) knew exactly who to cast in the music video: the girlfriends and family who have helped her in real-life scenarios just like this. For the Chris Hicky (Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert) directed video, RaeLynn enlisted the help of good friend and fellow Nashville artist Lindsay James “LJ” Hague, singer/songwriter and “The Goldbergs” actress Hayley Orrantia and sister-in-law turned best friend Heather Davis. Mixed in with glowing scenes featuring her signature pink neon, the Warner Music Nashville/Warner Bros. Records artist takes on the supportive best friend role to tell the song’s story of rejecting “a wishy-washy ex without flinching, sending all of his calls to voicemail.” (NPR)

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, RaeLynn explains the story behind how her now-husband, Josh Davis, inspired the lyrics. "We dated for eight months and broke up. The song is verbatim how I felt. I remember him calling me one night and…I was like, 'I'm not your lonely call! I'm a Texas girl!...every time he hears it [now] he just laughs.”

The “country Katy Perry” (Newsday) is also featured in this month’s issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine, which showcases the singer/songwriter as one of seven women carrying the torch of country music’s female future. Her No. 1 debut record WildHorse was also recently included as one of Rolling Stone’s “Best Country and Americana Albums of 2017 So Far”, praising the way she “…smartly documents many aspects of young womanhood.”

As the most-added song from a solo female the week it impacted country radio, “Lonely Call”  has been praised by Taste of Country for showcasing a “…newfound musical maturity and perspective,” also noting that her “…uniquely smoky vocal tone is perfectly suited to the aching, regretful subject matter that she’s delivering, and the result is a track that is so universally identifiable that it could very well carry her career to new heights at country radio.” The undeniably relatable track was ultimately chosen by her passionate fans and was co-written with one of the album’s producers, Nicolle Galyon, and Rob Hawkins.

The country music darling is spending the summer touring fairs, festivals and more including a performance for Warner Music Nashville’s annual Pickin’ on the Patio series on Wednesday, July 26. That same weekend, RaeLynn will perform twice on Saturday, July 29 in Nashville, first for a Country Music Hall of Fame Songwriter Session with Galyon and followed by a visit to the iconic Ryman Auditorium, opening for the “Little Big Town at the Mother Church” residency on.

About RaeLynn:
RaeLynn’s current single “Lonely Call” is the follow-up to her powerful first track “Love Triangle” from the Warner Bros. Records/Warner Music Nashville #1 debut WildHorse, produced by Jimmy Robbins and Nicolle Galyon. “Love Triangle” tells her personal story in a way that "is a raw and emotional account of what it’s like to be the child of divorced parents" (People Magazine), which media and fans immediately gravitated to, evidenced by the single hitting Top 10 sales per spin while the music video has racked up nearly 8 million views since its release. The remainder of the 12-track album, 11 of which were co-written by RaeLynn herself, is a broader look into her life over the past few years since her breakthrough on NBC’s hit show, The Voice. Recently selected as a 2017 “Country Artist to Watch” by Pandora, Napster and Billboard and a current CMT Next Women of Country inductee, RaeLynn has tallied 120 million plus cumulative career streams. She is poised to follow in the early success of her Top 10, GOLD-certified song “God Made Girls” that has tallied more than 940,000 track equivalent sales and has been streamed more than 50 million times. The rising star has earned numerous award nominations including the Academy of Country Music Awards’ New Female Vocalist of the Year, Radio Disney Music Awards’ Favorite Country Song and The Freshest! - Best New Artist Country, and most recently CMT Music Awards’ Breakthrough Video of the Year, her second in that category in addition to a Female Video of the Year nod. The breakout star has had several national TV performances since The Voice, including appearances on TODAY, Late Night with Seth Meyers and ELLEN.
