New Track “Northern Star” from Grew Up On That EP Available Tomorrow

Brad and Curtis Rempel of High Valley grew up writing and playing songs in the best makeshift studio space any kid could ask for: their garage. The new music video for “Grew Up On That” (watchHERE) takes the viewer back in time to that very place, where memories of farm life and family line the walls of an artfully reconstructed set. Rewind with photos of early gigs, young love, holiday traditions and even a muddy ATV ride – then fast-forward to current day, when the brothers suit up and jump in to recapture that spirit.

“I definitely get emotional watching this video,” Brad said. “I love how our directors Benno Nelson and Sam Siske were able to help us travel through time with the videos and photos of our childhood all the way to present day. Turns out we’ve changed a lot, but we also haven’t changed at all.”

High Valley’s new EP, aptly titled Grew Up On That, is due May 22 and shares universal themes from their unique upbringing. Beginning with its title track (listen HERE), the six-song project tells of childhood, family and love. See full song listing below. The duo has also previewed the project with “River’s Still Running” (listen HERE), an up-tempo tune with a steadfast message, and “Your Mama” (listen HERE), a “heartwarming” (Sounds Like Nashville) tribute to their better halves.

Tomorrow High Valley will add another new song to the mix as they gear up to release “Northern Star” (listen HEREstarting at 12:00pm/11:00c). The song tells of a man who wishes for a guiding light and finds it in his love. Said Brad: “My favorite line of this song is ‘I’ll be your rock, you’ll be my compass / We’ll never stop knowing where love is.’ Hopefully it will resonate with people like it has with us, and maybe some will use it for their wedding song… I know that at the very least it’s a great anniversary song for my wife Rebekah and me!” The elder half of the duo penned the track alongside Matt Rogers and Ben Stennis.

Their distinctive brand of positive-minded, bluegrass-infused country music has made High Valley a formidable duo across the globe. They have already earned 250 million streams across the US and their native Canada alone. Their 2016 debut album Dear Life produced fan favorite “Make You Mine” and Top 10 radio hit “She’s With Me,” both of which have been certified Gold. The brothers’ touring credits include dates with some of the format’s biggest superstars, from Shania Twain to Keith Urban. Visit https://www.highvalleymusic.com/ for more information.
