When Warner Music Nashville’s Walker County (Ivy Dene and Sophie Dawn) logged onto Twitter back in September, they were shocked to find praise from one of their musical idols: superstar Kelly Clarkson. The post (read HERE), which complimented their harmonies and urged followers to check out the sister duo, was the natural first step on the path to their television debut. Walker County will take the stage at The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday, May 3 to perform their upbeat summer song “Bits & Pieces” (listen HERE). Check HERE for local listings.

“As a singer, Kelly is someone I’ve looked up to for years!” Ivy said. “Her voice is so strong and powerful. Sophie and I have been fans for as long as we can remember – we used to sing ‘Because of You’ in talent contests! We’re so honored to have our TV debut on her show.”

Added Sophie: “I still remember when Ivy and I used to stay up past our bedtimes to watch Kelly on American Idol. She is such an amazing artist, and we are thrilled to rock out on her stage!”

Walker County has increasingly introduced themselves to fans over the past six months, releasing “Bits & Pieces” as well as three other tracks – “Shovel” (listen HERE), “Drag It Out” (listen HERE) and “Someone’s Someone” (listen HERE). Ivy (lead vocals) and Sophie (vocals, percussion) have already been named Next Women of Country and Listen Up artists, and Taste of Country declared that “with a pair of enduring voices matched by their vibrant presence, Walker County glimmer within the spectrum of modern country music.”

This summer will see Walker County releasing additional content and new music as they prepare to hit the road again later this year. Click HERE for tour dates and more information.
