Taste of Country Premieres Official Music Video

CMT Hot20 Live Performance Today at 4:30 PM CT From Ole Red Nashville on Lower Broadway

Cale Dodds has one question for country music fans: “What We Gonna Do About It?” The Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville recording artist is all about seizing the moment to have a good time in his new track, available now (listen HERE). With nearly 26 million Spotify streams to his name, Dodds is currently featured on the platform’s New Music Friday playlist.

“I’m really excited about getting this song out to fans,” said Dodds. “‘What We Gonna Do About It’ has the exact kind of party feel that I want in my live show. People come to a country music concert for an hour and a half to forget – and I want to give them something to remember.”

Dodds, who penned the tune alongside producer Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, also imagined the concept for its official music video. With the help of his band, director Dustin Haney and one special senior center in Nashville, the idea became a reality. Taste of Country premiered the video today, joking that he “rocks the socks off the elderly” and calling the song “infectious” (watch HERE).

Added Dodds, “When I told my manager and Dustin, the director, what I wanted to do for the visuals, they said, ‘That’s probably the most you idea we’ve ever heard.’ They were right – I love making people laugh, and I think that’s exactly what this video will do. I’m lucky to have a team around me that gave us the creative freedom to make our vision come to life.”

The up-and-coming entertainer continues to showcase his personality in “Cale Cam” videos, which chronicle his touring, recording and everyday adventures (watch HERE). Music lovers can now also turn to Amazon for their daily dose of Dodds: he is the current host of the recently launched country drinking game. Alexa users can enable the skill and ask to play country music trivia alongside Dodds and their friends (more information HERE).

Fans can also catch the singer / songwriter in-person this afternoon for CMT’s Hot20 Live at Ole Red in downtown Nashville at 4:30 PM CT, where he will bring “What We Gonna Do About It” and more to life in a full-band performance (tune inHERE). Dodds previewed today’s show with another of his brainchildren: a special “cubicle concerts” video piece, which hit the CMT Hot 20 Facebook page and website this morning. Watch HERE.

Dubbed a “New Country Artist You Need To Know” by Rolling Stone and included in CMT’s #18for2018 classDodds rose to prominence with viral hits like “Lying,” “All Over” and “People Watching.” Fans and critics alike have taken note, with platforms like Amazon Music Unlimited and Google Play including him on their “Best Country Songs of 2017” and “2018 Country Artists to Watch” playlists, respectively. Keep an eye out for new music and content from Dodds through the end of the year.
