It wasn’t a stretch for Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Cale Dodds to write a song about a downhome childhood and a country upbringing – the Columbus, GA native pulled from his own life to pen “Where I Get It From” alongside Sarah Buxton, Corey Crowder and Jared Mullins (listen HERE). He and his friends take fans on a summer afternoon river ride in the song’s official music video, directed by Dustin Haney (watch HERE).

“When we wrote this song, I had one goal – I simply wanted to write a fun song that told my story and paid homage to my roots,” Dodds said. “That’s exactly what we did. When I hear it, I’m instantly right back in the truck I drove in high school. I’m remembering those hot Georgia parking lot nights and summers spent skiing on the Chattahoochee River while getting sunburned, listening to ‘90s country. The music video captures my ideal day pretty perfectly. I hope fans can relate and understand a little more about ‘Where I Get It From’!”

The new tune follows Dodds’ recently released “infectiously rocking” (MusicRow) party-starter “What We Gonna Do About It” (listen HERE). The song, which he wrote alongside Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, has already earned spots on Spotify’s New Music FridayNew Boots, Wild CountryPo-CoNext From Nashville playlists. Fans can visit the platform to see an exclusive vertical video (watch HERE) or check out the official music video, also directed by, HERE. Dodds also shared a special acoustic version of the track to celebrate his milestone-making Grand Ole Opry debut just two weeks ago (watch HERE).

The up-and-coming entertainer also brings his lighthearted and creative personality to his “Cale Cam” video series, which chronicles his touring, recording and everyday adventures (watch HERE). He is also the current host of Amazon’s new country drinking game. Alexa users can enable the skill and ask to play country music trivia alongside Dodds and their friends (more information HERE).

Dubbed a “New Country Artist You Need To Know” by Rolling Stone and included in CMT’s #18for2018 classDodds rose to prominence with viral hits like “Lying,” “All Over” and “People Watching.” Fans and critics alike have taken note, with platforms likeAmazon Music Unlimited and Google Play including him on their “Best Country Songs of 2017” and “2018 Country Artists to Watch” playlists, respectively. Keep an eye out for new content from Dodds through the end of the year.
