Duo to Team Up with Kelly Clarkson for “Keeping Score” Television Debut

at 54th Academy of Country Music Awards (CBS) Sunday, April 7

It’s been nothing but up lately for Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney), but now they’re going down – under, that is. Announced earlier today, the GRAMMY-winning duo will join superstarShawn Mendes on his self-titled tour in Australia (Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney). Additional tickets for the October and November dates will go on sale (HERE) Monday, April 1 at noon local time. Dan + Shay exploded internationally in 2018 with the release of their smash single “Tequila,” which has topped charts across the world and earned more than 600,000,000 streams globally.

Before heading overseas, the duo will spend the spring on the remaining dates of their sold-out headlining tour. Star Tribune praised Mooney’s vocals in Minneapolis as “a luxe tenor, the prettiest male voice in Nashville since Vince Gill” with their harmonies described as “an alluring blend.” The newspaper aptly declared of the recent show, “The young female fans screamed as if Ed Sheeran were onstage. They sang along as if Shawn Mendes were onstage. They shot cellphone videos as if… Taylor Swift were onstage.” In June they’ll bring the critically acclaimed show to Florida Georgia Line’s “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour” in addition to a performance at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium during CMA Fest in June.

Next week will take the duo to Vegas for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Though they’ve enjoyed a year of unprecedented success, Dan + Shay aren’t about “Keeping Score” – unless it’s with pop sensation Kelly Clarkson. They will make the live television debut of the duet from their self-titled album alongside Clarkson at the 54th ACM Awards on Sunday, April 7 at 8:00 PM ET / delayed PT on the CBS Television Network. The song earned Dan + Shay their first-ever nomination for Music Event of the Year, joining their five additional nods at this year’s ceremony (Duo, Album, Single, Song and Video). Smyers received four nominations of his own for his work as songwriter and producer.

From their massive headlining dates to shows alongside the world’s biggest pop and country sensations, Dan + Shay are taking their collection of hits on the road with them. Their current single “All To Myself” has already surpassed 61,000,000 on-demand streams and sold more than 450,000 track equivalents. The “intoxicating romantic cocktail” (MusicRow) follows four-week No. 1 single “Speechless,” which boasts upwards of 266,000,000 on-demand streams and is approaching 2,000,000 track equivalent sales, and the chart-topping, multi-Platinum, GRAMMY-winning genre-defying viral hit “Tequila.”
