Skyrocketing country stars Dan + Shay are raising their glasses in celebration after reaching yet another milestone in their career. Their Platinum-selling single “Tequila” has officially hit 100 million streams on Spotify, contributing to the more than 250 million on-demand streams. The massive hit, which held a multi-week run atop the country charts and is currently sitting inside the Top 15 on Hot AC, is the most-streamed country song released in 2018. It is also the second most-streamed country song of the year overall with almost 75 million combined views on its videos.

 

Fans aren’t the only ones showing love for “Tequila.” The record-breaking single has recently received an American Music Awards nomination for Favorite Song – Country and three CMA Awards nominations for Song, Single, and Video of the Year. The award-winning duo is also celebrating an AMA nomination for Favorite Duo or Group and a CMA Awards nomination for Duo of the Year.

  

So far in 2018, Dan + Shay is the only duo to achieve two top 10 songs on the country Shazam in the same week with “Tequila” and their follow-up single “Speechless.” The romantic tune has quickly made its mark at country radio, where it currently sits inside the Top 25 after just six weeks on the country radio airplay charts. The song has nearly 70 million on-demand streams and has sold 522,000 track equivalents. The music video, featuring footage from each of their real-life weddings, has reached nearly 20 million views on YouTube. 

 

They recently released vocal-only versions of both tunes (listen HERE), which Billboard applauded for “powerful harmonies [that] soar through… with effortless emotion,” and just a few weeks ago introduced four additional variations of “Tequila” with their remixes package (listen HERE). Between the two singles, the duo is celebrating their 17th consecutive week inside the Top 10 for most-streamed artist in country music. The pair took to the streets of Nashville’s music row in August for a blowout street party, where they performed their collection of hits and new songs to a crowd of 10,000 fans – some making the trek from different states and even other countries.

 

Dan + Shay have also performed on national television stages spanning Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen, the CMA Fest concert special, the 53rd Annual ACM Awards, the 2018 CMT Music Awards and the Citi Summer Concert Series on TODAY. They recently wrapped the Rascal Flatts “Back To Us” Tour and will join Chris Young for the fall leg on his “Losing Sleep” Tour in October. The duo will kick off their UK tour on January 17, 2019 where they will perform their collection of No.1 hits along with brand new music across the globe.
