“California Smoke” Headlining Tour Begins 4/24
“One of country music’s most tender and articulate wordsmiths” (The Tennessean),Devin Dawson, is about to hit the radio airwaves with a brand new song, except this time you’ll hear it through the voice of label mate and superstar: Blake Shelton. “God’s Country,” the flagship single from Shelton’s forthcoming album, was written by Dawson alongside Michael Hardy and Jordan Schmidt and will be available everywhere this Friday (3/29).
The “Dark Horse” singer, whose background vocals can also be heard on the anthemic track, was recently chosen to lend his “pleading, blues-rock vocals” (ELLE) for a new song from Irish “new wave trad” quintet, Beoga. “Matthew’s Daughter” (LISTEN HERE) was written and composed by megastar singer/songwriter/producer Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid alongside the quintet, and was produced by Jonny Coffer (Beyoncé, Fall Out Boy, Lykke Li).
In addition, Dawson is wrapping up a set of overseas dates that began with four performances during Australia's biggest international country festival, CMC Rocks. He’ll make his way to Tokyo, Japan this week where he’ll join Brandy Clark and Lindsay Ell for their final stop on CMA’s “Introducing Nashville” tour series. The three country artists also visited the Australian cities of Lismore, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne as well as Auckland, New Zealand earlier this month.
The Nor-Cal native will hit the road again next month for his headlining “California Smoke Tour,” which kicks off April 24thin San Luis Obispo, CA. Proceeds from all six California-exclusive dates will go straight to the California Fire Foundation, aiding them in providing emotional and financial assistance to firefighters, their families and the communities they protect.
