Dodds Named a Rolling Stone “New Country Artist You Need to Know”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (November 17, 2017) – Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Cale Dodds made his major label debut in September with the first of three double-sided singles, and today he releases round two. “Out Of My System / People Watching” once more couples a brand new track with a re-release of a breakout song. This time, Dodds offers fans a look at opposite ends of the relationship spectrum. Set to his unique blend of contemporary country music, “Out Of My System” provides insight into the difficulties of letting go.

“‘Out Of My System’ is about a toxic relationship that I stayed in for way too long,” said Dodds. “Looking back, it makes me realize that you have to trust your path. Sometimes when things don't work out in life, they work out on stage. I love playing this song live so I think it’s a great example of that.”

Already a seasoned songwriter, the Columbus, GA native wrote both tracks alongside Zach Abend and Corey Crowder. “People Watching” racked up almost six million streams on Spotify alone upon its original release in 2016. The feel-good tune describes onlookers admiring a couple lost in love. Added Dodds: “I was so grateful for the response to ‘People Watching’ last year that when I had the chance to give it an update in the studio, I jumped. It’s just a fun song about love that makes people sing along. That can be the best kind of music.”

In the two months since its premiere, Dodds’ first double-sided single “All Over / Lying” has racked up over six and a half million streams. He will release the third and final pair of songs in January before launching his first nationwide radio tour. In the meantime, Dodds is closing the year on a high note. Rolling Stone just named him one of their November 2017 “New Country Artists You Need To Know,” praising his “smooth pop-country crooning over arena ready arrangements, distinguished by clever lyricism.”

Dodds is known as much for his music as his charming personality, which he showed off interviewing fellow country artists at the CMA Lounge during CMA Awards week in Nashville. Superstars such as Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town all stopped by to talk with Dodds in addition to label mates Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell, Chris Janson and more. Fans can check out select interviews on the official “CMA Country Music Association” YouTube channel and in an upcoming episode of the “Cale Cam” video series. “Cale Cam” provides a behind-the-scenes look at the rising country artist both in the studio and on the road.
