Country music rising artist Drew Parker is welcoming the weekend with open arms with his new track “Little Miss Saturday Night” (LISTEN HERE). Written by Matt Jenkins, Josh Osborne and Andrew DeRoberts and produced by Phil O’Donnell and Scott Hendricks, the song finds Parker serenading a potential love interest at a bar.
“If you know anything about me, you know that I love writing songs,” said Parker. “Having other artists believe in songs that I’ve co-written enough to record them is one of my greatest accomplishments…I’ve always respected the songwriters in Nashville and have looked up to many of them for so long, so when it came time for me to talk about recording new music, I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss out. I asked my team to find outside songs to consider cutting, listened to about 400 songs in two days and came across “Little Miss Saturday Night”! I knew the minute I heard it that I was going to record it. It made me think of every song I listened to growing up. The lyrics, the melody, everything about it was what I was looking for. Thanks to Josh Osborne, Matt Jenkins and Andrew DeRoberts for letting me record this song” (READ PARKER’S FULL QUOTE HERE).
“Little Miss Saturday Night” follows his recent release “Raised Up Right” (LISTEN HERE). Written by Parker, Matt Jenkins and Ben Hayslip, the song serves as a nostalgic homage to values instilled in him as a child. The release was the first new music since his seven-track EP While You’re Gone. Parker was one of the fastest debut artists to hit the Billboard chart last year with the title track, charting on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart after just two weeks. The hit went on to claim the No.1 spot on SiriusXM’s The Highway.
Parker is looking to top the charts once again as a songwriter with Luke Combs’ Top 3 and climbing single “Doin’ This.” A frequent collaborator with Combs, Parker has songwriting credits on tracks such as “1, 2 Many,” “Lonely One,” “Nothing Like You” and “Forever After All.” The latter gave Parker his first CMA Awards nomination for Song of the Year for the multi-week No.1. He will celebrate alongside Combs as an opener for the BMI Parking Lot Party, the “biggest No.1 party ever,” on June 8 in Nashville.
The Georgia native will then join the CMA Fest lineup on June 11, performing on the Dr. Pepper Amp Stage at Ascend Park. Fans can also catch him playing headlining shows across the country this year. For a full list of upcoming tour dates, click HERE.
