Warner Music Nashville’s sister duo Walker County channeled Linda Ronstadt on Monday night (9/23) alongside the legendary Peter Asher at his event Peter Asher: A Musical Memoir of the 60’s and Beyond. The two joined him for a performance of Ronstadt’s Asher-produced smash “Blue Bayou” with the celebrated Dan Dugmore, who played on the original track, accompanying on pedal steel. Born and raised far from Asher’s native London in rural Sulphur Springs, Indiana, sisters Ivy (23, lead vocals) and Sophie (20, percussion and harmony) have been performing almost as long as they can remember. Sophie’s hard-driving rhythms and Ivy’s strutting, soulful vocals create a unique blend of country music that was inspired by the sounds of middle America they grew up on. This fall, Walker County will release brand new music and hit the road for CMT On Tour with Jimmie Allen and headliner Michael Ray.
