NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (June 29, 2018) – Country rockers The Wild Feathers (Taylor Burns, Ricky Young, Joel King, Ben Dumas) offer fans Greetings From the Neon Frontier, their eagerly anticipated new album, available now (BUY / STREAM HERE). The Jay Joyce-produced record boasts 10 tracks that feature the band’s signature layered harmonies and captures their wandering spirit. Of the project singer / bassist King explains, “This album shows exactly who we are now – a little older, a little wiser and a lot more honest.”
The band put their traveling tendencies to the test yesterday (6/28) with a mini mobile tour of Music City. Armed with a flatbed truck decked out in amps and instruments, The Wild Feathers hit some of Nashville’s hottest spots for pop-up performances throughout the afternoon. The band rolled up to the brand new Grimey’s in East Nashville, where they christened the yet-to-be-completed space with its first official in-store, before making stops at the Country Music Hall of Fame, a drive down Broadway and more. After an interview with Lightning 100, they brought the grand finale to Germantown’s Marathon Village and drove away still playing. All captured via live video, fans can visit The Wild Feathers on social media (HERE) to relive the experience.
The itinerant themes of Greetings From the Neon Frontier have earned early support from fans and praise from critics. The Associated Press declared, “This is road music. It might make you step on the gas a little harder,” adding, “The band has put the focus back where it belongs: on harmony and the kind of acoustic-electric rock that gets your adrenaline going.” Taste of Country named the foursome one of its “5 Country Acts to Watch in June 2018,” noting, “The Wild Feathers offer something refreshing against what can sometimes be a stale mainstream landscape… Their sound feels wide open and welcoming to all kinds of listeners.”

Standout cuts such as “Big Sky,” a track whose significant airplay on SiriusXM’s The Highway led it to being named the newest “Highway Find,” fueled the album ahead of its release. Rolling Stone called it “an amplified tribute to the joys of unplugging oneself form everyday life and, instead, chasing down some wide open spaces.” Album opener “Quittin’ Time” and the nomadic “Wildfire” have quickly become set favorites, with Parade applauding the latter as “chock full of sweet acoustics and tight harmonies… an anthem of the road.”

On July 12, The Wild Feathers will continue to celebrate album launch in New York City with a performance of “Stand By You” in the 10:00 a.m. hour of TODAY. The tune has been lauded for its “sunny and easy-flowing chorus” and “wide open and layered guitars that feel prime for summer road trips out west” (Wide Open Country). Before heading east, the band will take to Houston for the Outlaw Country Festival this weekend and an in-store performance at Cactus Records (7/2). They’ll visit Waterloo Records in Austin (7/3) and then join Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic to ring in Independence Day. With additional tour dates including Milwaukee’s Summerfest (7/7), Michigan’s Faster Horses Festival (7/21) and Nashville’s own Live on the Green (8/30), fans can catch the foursome and their new music across the country all summer long.
