Earlier this week, American Songwriter exclusively announced the news that GRAMMY Award-winning Zac Brown Band has collaborated with label-mate Ingrid Andress for a brand new version of “Any Day Now” out today (LISTEN HERE). The “stirring track” (American Songwriter) will be featured on The Comeback (Deluxe) due September 30th and available to pre-order/save now (CLICK HERE). The band also recently notched their 20th total CMA Awards nomination with a nod in the Vocal Group of the Year category.
Brown enlisted some of his musical friends and heroes for The Comeback (Deluxe) including multi-platinum-selling artist Cody Johnson for “Wild Palomino,” celebrated vocalist Jamey Johnson for “Stubborn Pride (with Marcus King)” and iconic singer/songwriter James Taylor for “Love and Sunsets.” Country superstar Blake Shelton also joins the group for a new version of current single, “Out In The Middle,” which is nearing Top 15 at country radio now. The chart-topping band performed the song on The Late Late Show With James Corden (WATCH HERE) with Rolling Stone describing it as “a song of praise for the country lifestyle. With a swampy, rumbling groove…bolstered by the group’s layered harmonies and joyous fiddle runs.”
The group also just announced an upcoming performance at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium for a special, intimate, one-night-only event on September 22nd. A portion of the proceeds will benefit ‘Hop On A Cure’ in its efforts to help fund research toward making amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) a “thing of the past.” The foundation was established by one of the band’s founding members, John Driskell “Hop” Hopkins, who was diagnosed with ALS earlier this year. Earlier this summer, GRAMMY.com caught up with all nine members for their “On the Road” series, captured at the GRAMMY Block Party in Nashville (WATCH HERE). The clip gives an incredible overview of what you can find on their current international “Out in the Middle Tour,” as well as strong insight into the band’s genre diversity in live cover performances. The band recently made their 13th visit to Boston’s Fenway Park, where they hold the record for most consecutive sold-out shows, following a performance to a crowd of nearly 30,000 fans at Truist Park in their hometown of Atlanta. They are set to visit more iconic venues in the coming months, including the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (11/4). Upon release, The Comeback jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Current Country Albums Sales chart and was the Top New Country Album Release. Lead singer Zac Brown boasts a co-writer credit on every song and also co-produced the entire record alongside frequent collaborator, Ben Simonetti.
